Love Letter to Gaia on Earth Day

Dear Mama Gaia,

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I’m in constant awe of your beauty, your power, your rawness, your gentleness, your fierceness, and your unending cycles of death, rebirth, and growth.

I feel you Gaia.

I feel your love coming up from the ground, I feel your embrace even when I’m upstairs in my apartment. I feel so completely at home when I wrap my arms around a tree, breathing deeply with my body and face pressed against you, and feel the love emanating back into me.

Thank you for your light, for your dark, for the plants and rocks and crystals that have adorned my home and my body, and for all of the plant medicines that have been so incredibly supportive and have been an opportunity to tune in, again and again, to the frequency of you.

As I sit with the intention of tuning my frequency to you, imagining the subtle thrum of your heartbeat. Sitting with the intention to connect more deeply with my own body, and noticing, each time, the welling up of the remembrance that I am made from you.

I am made of the same minerals and atoms of everything on the Earth
I am animated by the same breath that breathes life between all sentient beings
I am nourished with the same life giving water that unites all living creatures
I am forged by the same fires of transformation and renewal

We are One.

I am not separate.. but the same.

Unique expressions of life exist all around us.

Such miraculous beauty that still hits my cells in ecstatic wonder as the words come through my fingers into this keyboard.

I look outside and see the trees, three birds swoop by together, and cars pass on the street, each carrying humans just as incredible and full of life as me.

We are One.

Unique expressions of Life!
We are all so deeply connected, it’s just in our heads that we’re separate.

Every person, my sibling
Every animal, every plant, every mineral, my cousin.

The waters that flow over the Earth are the same waters that flow through my own body.
The dirt and the minerals, the same ones that make up my bones and my tissues.

May ALL beings feel safe + supported
May ALL beings be respected
May ALL beings be encouraged to share their unique expression

May ALL beings know peace
May ALL beings know ease
May ALL beings know love

As we celebrate our Mother - Gaia - Earth

May we breathe this in.

The more we go inwards and deepen our connection to our own emotions and bodies
The more connected we will feel to the Earth and each other

And I believe something truly miraculous will happen.

When we remember that we are all unique expressions of life
When all beings are respected + in full unique expression

How could our collective human experience be anything other than a place of delicious connection, compassionate innovation, peace, and love?

I believe this to be true with all of my being and I declare whole-heartedly that I am here to be in humble service to this vision.

I’m not here to save anyone, because there is no one that needs saving.
I’m here to stand true to my vision, to shine my unique light, to share my message to all who have ears to hear.

I’m here in humble service to Gaia, as an aspect of her in human form
That may spark a remembrance, that so are you.

Thank you Mama Gaia, Mother Earth, Pachamama for your love, for your presence, for your nourishment.

Thank you for this gift of life.

It is my prayer that all beings may know peace, that all beings may know love, that all beings be respected, and that all beings may feel safe, supported, and free.

May I walk in a way that is helpful, that is good. And may I be reminded when I slip and can do better, because I know I’m not perfect and I don’t wish to be. I just want to be the most true, most free expression of me. So may I walk with you Gaia, may I open my ears to hear you, and open my heart wide to receive you, and plant my feet on the ground and breathe you in with every chance I get.
